christmas craft & other odds

boo has finally completed the felt ‘purses’ she started what feels like forever ago….

each ‘sewing session’ lasted approximately 90 seconds and so they have taken for ever to complete. i really am looking forward to the days when her attention span lasts for a whole 3 minutes, i’m not even going to pretend it’ll ever reach the dizzy heights of 10 or even 15 minutes!

i’m cracking on with the socks i started although i did have a few teething troubles all is well now. currently 3 socks down, 3 to go…..

i’m all ready to get on with the bath melts, and body whip and other such lovelies as presents, tom’s giving me time tomorrow to get on with them hopefully. i ‘forgot’ to buy the fabric i wanted to wrap them in so that’ll be a task for another day, still there’s a whole 5 days and one evening to go before the big day…. although of course Boo will be 3 on Christmas eve and so the day before that i’ll be making birthday cake (again) and on the day i won’t be doing much at all until she’s gone to bed!

tom has just reminded me that i had already begun on the bath melts as i needed them ready by December 1st in order to put them into the advent envelopes that i prepared last year so here’s pics of the preparation (wouldn’t it be lovely if The Big FC was kind enough to bring me a lovely flashy camera that took nice pictures instead of the rather awful ones i keep posting…)

i have of course forgotten to mention that last weekend was one of much revelry in our house as we had Boo’s birthday party so that people could get it out of the way before Christmas proper – so here’s a pic of her party cake, for those not in the know it’s ‘Dorothy the Dinosaur’ from The Wiggles – i didn’t plan on having to make her 2 cakes each year but it seems wrong not to have one at her party and then of course on her actual birthday it would feel very strange not to be blowing out candles…..

at her party we made everyone put their handprint on  a roll of paper for us to keep for her, all obliged (parents and all except one mum & son we missed) and the roll of paper is safely stored away for her to remember everyone that came.

thank you all that came, thank you especially to those that helped presents will be opened on her birthday (which seems really mean now i’ve realised how long it will have been until her actual birthday but… policy is policy and we can’t deviate – not for anyone

back to Christmas crafts – i am now planning next years gifts so i can begin them soon into 2009 in order to not be knitting/sewing/making every night in the run up to Christmas 2009….
